1951 Magnum Opus Mk I

Magnum Opus Mk I
London, 1951

This Magnum Opus Mk I was first sold on 8th June 1951, price 25 pounds 10 shillings. Type Ones are rare, as the model was replaced by the Mk II soon after; the Mk II remained a strong seller until the mid-1980s and Mk II exemplars far outnumber Mk Is.

The frame has been expertly restored in green enamel, gold trim, with coronation transfers.

The bike is equipped, as new, with the following components: Chater Lea chainset, b/b; BSA pedals; Simplex mech and front changer; GB stem, Maes bar; BG Coureur side-pull brakes; Brooks saddle on Reynolds alloy seatpin.

A splendid restoration.
